The following solution will instruct you on how to remove filament residue from the print head drive units on your Leapfrog Xeed 2015 3D printer


Tools:

- a number 2 , 2.5 and 3 Allen key;


To remove the filament from the print head you need to do the following:


1.First remove the 2 screws that hold the print head housing in place(Pic.1) using the 2.5 Allen key:

2.Now lift the housing to expose the drive units and the filament guiding tubes(Pic.2):

3.Now unbolt the side screw of the motor where the filament is stuck left or right (Pic.3a and b) using the number 3 Allen key:

4.Now you can lift the motor (Pic.4):

5.And the last step is to remove the filament guiding tube for which you need to remove the circled grub screw (Pic.5) using the number 2 Allen key:

This should help your drive units feed the filament better, improving the quality of your prints.
